Product Description

Hospital Acquired Infection: an underappreciated threat

Everyone has heard about Hospital Acquired Infection (HAI). It’s been covered in the news, and hospitals that are found to be dirty or particularly bad at infection control are highlighted in the media. Unfortunately, people have become accustomed to horror stories of superbugs such as MRSA and C-diff, and the apparent negligence of hospital staff who don’t clean their hands. Over time, the threat of HAIs has become normalized and the public pressure to change has eased. This has resulted in a dangerous status quo. Unfortunately, for the people who lose a loved one, and patients who have to stay in hospital for longer, the danger of HAIs are very real. Existing approaches are failing patients and this problem will not go away.
